An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
